Ffffound is the greatest photo repository I've found yet. It's like a giant visual candy store.

So you want to float down the Parana? Before doing so, I recommend you read the poet Juan L. Ortiz (or simply Juanele as he's usually known) and Juan Jose Saer. As I'm more given to narrative, I'd start with Saer (La pesquisa or The Investigation and El entenado or Witness are good starting points). They are two of the most important Argentine writers of the mid to late twentieth century.

Indeed, I do! But it's more pipe dream than anything. I also want to do the same on the Danube...I will admit that I've heavily romanticized the idea of the long, lazy river trip. Especially in a hand-built boat. Knowing my carpentry skillz, I'd get ten minutes south of Puerto Iguazu and sink, hah.

I will check out those authors, though. Thanks for the rec.
